This is for those skeptics out there who think us Victorians are only
railing and shouting mindlessly. We aren't dumb you know. We know what works
for us, that's why we love the current arrangement. I'm not advocating
blindly following tradition, but more often than not, traditions are
traditions precisely because they work and have some truth in them. Being in
an all-boys school has been essential in my formative years. Of course being
exposed to only one gender won't do anyone good, but it is truly more
rewarding to go through a single sex school during your teenage years.

You need to figure out whether those sources cited are reasonable.
Citing a source called "National Association for Single Sex Public Education" in support of single sex education is hardly the way to do research. Look up something independent.
And the cultures in other countries are vastly different from that in Singapore. You need to figure out how THAT ties in with the Singapore education system.
The truth is that VS has been going downhill. Something must change. It may not be the right change to go Co-Ed, but for want of a better option what do you expect a principal to do? Sit and do nothing?
The challenge now is on you VSians to think of another option. Inaction is not an option.
If you have been reading the blog and forum lately, you would know that Cher Li is leading the counter-proposal.
As many have already pointed out, what started off as Victorians expressing their sheer outrage has evolved into structured and critical views of the current system and also alternatives to going Co-ed.
